AJ McLeay

Assistant Coach

AJ Mcleay - 10U Assistant - Athletics have always been a passion and big part of my life from early age through college. And now coaching gives me an opportunity to share that passion and experience within our community, in hopes to inspire and develop the next generation of young athletes. So much of what we learn in sports, translates to life outside of it, and it’s a privilege to see the kids develop in both! And now watching my son grow in and share that same passion, has made coaching all the better! We chose NE Select for its organization, competitive environment, coaching expertise and dedication to the development of each athlete.  So with that, I am certainly looking forward to seeing the boys grow and develop both individually and as a team, while having a great time playing the sport we all love!

Just great kids with great attitudes who are the FUTURE of Nebraska Athletics. NE Select 7v7 was an amazing program last year and we hope to make it another amazing year.

I look forward to seeing our boys perform, improve, develop, and excel at the game of football. More importantly, we want to help these boys develop into amazing young men who can be leaders on and off the field. It's going to be an amazing season! I played football up to the high school level as a WR / DB. I have coached youth football in Tackle, 7v7 and Flag football for 3+ years. In that time, I've focused on the Quarterback position and to continue to help develop your young QBs.

Josh Kammerer

Josh Kammerer - 12U Assistant - As a coach, I see myself as a mentor and a leader, guiding our players both on and off the field. I believe in the power of teamwork, discipline, and hard work. I strive to instill these values in our players, knowing that they will not only make them better athletes, but also better individuals. One of the most rewarding aspects of coaching football is witnessing the growth and development of our players. I take pride in watching them improve their skills, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals. Seeing their confidence and passion for the game flourish under our guidance is incredibly fulfilling. I also enjoy the strategic aspect of coaching. Analyzing opponents, devising game plans, and making adjustments during games are all part of the excitement for me.

I look forward to another fun and exciting year with this organization. 3 years coaching flag football, two seasons coaching Jr Monarch Tackle, second season coaching 7v7

Mickey Kinney

Assistant Coach

Mickey Kinney - 12U Assistant - I love helping, teaching and developing kids into better versions of themselves. I also get to help develop my own son in the process. It started with signing my son up for flag football when Spirit started back up and was not happy with the development so the 2nd session I volunteered to coach. I instantly fell in love with the program and the director and it all took off from there, helping kids excel along with the programs success I felt like I wanted to be apart of this for the long haul. When NE Select started I knew I wanted to be apart of a family that cared about developing kids.

Looking forward to continue developing the kids from last year while also welcoming and developing new kids. Also, building friendships and relationships with coaches. Played and recognized on a state level - injury kept me from college level, coached Flag spring and fall since 2020, coached NE Select year 1 and looking forward for many more.

Brandon Hinks

Head Coach

Brandon Hinks - 12U Head Coach - Ever since I was introduced into sports I fell in love with the competition. Competing (to me) is life. Being coached for so many years by other coach's was a blessing because I took a little from each one and get to create my own vision. Honestly I do believe things happen for a reason. I've coached a few of my son's flag football team's in the past and was successful. When Darren (Select7 Director) had an opportunity to watch a few of our games he took notice and brought this opportunity to my attention. Let's just say he gave me the push I needed and put me in a position to showcase it on a different stage.

Jeremiah Watters - High School Head Coach - I love giving back to the community and athletes in the area. To see them succeed and give them the help I never had is so huge to seeing them further their careers and lives as players, men, husbands, etc! I came to help Darren build this into the vision he has for it long term. I see the bigger picture to what this can become and how it can help so many athletes in the area. Also to have more say in an organization and team(s) has been awesome for me to just be heard and my ideas welcomed.

Looking forward to creating bonds with these young men, other coaches, and going out there and competing for championships each weekend! Played 5 years Professionally: 2 NFL Camps, 1 CFL Season, 1 Season in The Spring League, and 4 stints between the AFL/CIF/AAL Arena/Indoor Leagues. I feel i have a lot of knowledge and passion to teach kids. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be with this organization. I'm looking forward to the overall competitive spirit and looking to see young men mature and take on any challenge.
