7V7 FAQ

7v7 football is a competitive passing & defensive league.

It's played by 5 receivers, 1 QB vs 7 defenders as one player centers the ball and remains at the line of scrimmage. After the catch it is 'touch' football working towards first downs, & touchdowns.

7v7 is highly competitive across the country and picking up steam in the Midwest, and is the best way to develop skilled players such as QB's, WR's, TE's, RB's, DB's, & LB's.

Do I have to REGISTER for Tryouts? Yes - all players must register to tryout for Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN. $30.00 Early Registration fee for a T-Shirt & 90 min tryout out at Papillion Landing. This fee is NON Refundable. Registration open October 22nd-November 30th, starting December 1st - 17th a Late Registration Fee Goes up to $35.00

Players will be notified within 48 hours of tryout completion. 

What are the Age Divisions? Currently we plan to field 2 teams in each of the following age divisions. 10 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under, 15 & Under, & High School - Ages based on how old you are on January 1, 2024

What does it take to make the Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN teams? Players from the Omaha & surrounding areas will tryout. Players are selected based on their skill level, consistency, effort, & attitude. Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN has NO AFFILIATION to any Tackle or Flag Organization or any specific High School. Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN coaches do not care who players play for outside of the Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN organization! 

How many Players are on each team? Each team will carry 12 players. (possibly 13 if there is a reason )

Will my player play? Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN has playing time policies in place for all pool games. Your player will play and have opportunity to be in Bracket play lineups! 

How long does the season run? We start practice January 7th and plan to play through June 2nd. 

When, where, and how often do we practice/train? We practice 1 time per week at Papillion Landing - Sundays 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Once outside we will practice once a week at Spirit Field in Papillion, time TBA. 10's & 12's will go 7:30pm-9:00pm & 14's, 15's & HS will go 8:30-10:00pm 

What can I expect from Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN Practice? All practices are planned & skill based. Drills, Technique, & fundamentals are stressed. Every practice is fun & competitive as all players are very talented. 

What if my player plays other select sports? Most if not all of our athletes are Multi Sport athletes. 7V7 is a "Supplemental Sport" you fit in your schedule to keep training and improving. We do our best to work with everyone's schedules. 

Why 7v7? Those players making Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN will get specific intense training and compete against top flight athletes from all over the Midwest. Players will participate in drills, be filmed, and be shown strengths and weaknesses. Players will travel and compete against the best in the Midwest. 

Where does Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN travel? We plan to attend FIVE events this Spring and host ONE. We are currently working on the logistics of our schedule but plan to play in IOWA, NEBRASKA, KANSAS, & SOUTH DAKOTA. Most trips are one day events or one night stay over. 

What are the Costs to play for Nebraska SELECT 7EVEN?  There is a $250.00 uniform deposit upon making the team due January 7th. There will be 2 payments of $200.00 on February 1st & March 1st. Total cost is $650.00  which includes full set of Uniforms, Indoor Facilities, & Tournament Entry fees.   All travel expenses are separate.
