Twelve-year-old Griffin Underwood of Council Bluffs, IA returns for his third year with NE SELECT 7EVEN and 12’s Head Coach Kyle Gilbert couldn’t be happier. “Griffin is the type of player who shows up to compete and he makes the team and every player on it better every day”.
Griffin had the option of only playing basketball and skipping 7v7 or committing to the offers of other 7v7 programs but in the end Griffin said; “my decision to play NE SELECT 7v7 is because it is fun and the more on field play I get the better I am. I also look forward to always learning something new at practices and games”
Griffin has been a star player for NE SELECT since he was ten years old. It’s not just the game he enjoys, and when asked what makes 7v7 fun he stated that traveling with his teammates to out of town tournaments and playing in college stadiums/top facilities were some of the things he enjoys most.
Griffin is a talented athlete, and he hopes his continued growth & training will allow him to play college sports someday whether that be basketball or football. A bonus this season will be his older brother Maddox joining the 14 year old division. We look forward to working with both of these brothers in what could be one of the best 7v7 seasons ever.
